Show Ur Pride is an HIV Testing, Condom Distribution, and Community Mobilization initiative aimed to motivate people of color to get tested for HIV and know their status during the Month of February commemorating Black History Month and National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness. The Change Happens HIV Prevention Team provide free Health Screenings, Health Education, and Community Mobilization throughout the City of Houston neighborhoods highly impacted by HIV/AIDS.

 

The Show Your Pride Initiative helps raise awareness about HIV and its impact on the lives of African Americans, and seeks to fight stigma by showing ordinary individuals such as mothers, fathers, friends, brothers, sisters, sons, daughters, partners, wives, husbands, and co-workers showing pride in getting tested and encouraging others to do the same. Change Happens HIV Prevention Team collaborate with community partners/ stakeholders to disseminate HIV messages/ statistics in targeted zip codes leading up to NBHAAD via social media platforms through video messaging.
